Calling all SUHS 2001 Batchmates!!

Have you been to the SU Portal West Building? If not, then you should check that out. It's part of Silliman University's Twin Portal Building Project. The SUACONA (Silliman University Alumni Council of North America) has spearheaded a project called Tree of Life. It's a fund raiser of the council to build one of the two buildings located in the SU Gates of Knowledge. If you go inside the Portal West building you will see this.

metal plates on them. These workers are installing the interactive screen.

The Tree of life consists of three parts – a South Tree, a North Tree and an Interactive Screen. Each tree will have 350 leaves that recognizes gifts of US $1000 each and six rocks that recognizes gifts of US $5000 each. As seen in the photo, each leaf or rock has a metal plate on which an inscription is written in honor of the donating party. A plate, also with an inscription, will be placed on the Tree trunks to recognize a gift of US $100,000 each. The Interactive Screen placed at the center of the building's lobby provides a close-up view of the leaves, rocks and trunks.

A formal inauguration will be held on August 26, 2008 in time for the Founder's Day Celebration.

Note: To my batchmates (SUHS 2001, Centennial Batch), wouldn't it be great if we can raise a sum of $1000 to have a place in the Tree of Life? If you convert that to Philippine Peso it will only amount to around Php 44,000. So what say you?!

What's up?

Ako.. same as always. Still here, stuck in Prison. :P and these are love letters in the sand. ako na man laman ang nabilin intawon dire sa among lugar oi! Why why why? delilah.

kabalo ko gamay ra man ang mu basa ani. for example, c alexis bag-o ra gud nag comment about the fact nga na lay off ko. and that was posted last feb 9 or 10.. basta. over a month ago. and last week pa nag comment c xsis. hehehe naka basa nga wa nag basa? hehehe ok ra pud. which means wala ra pud kaau mag bantay sa akong g sulat dire karon.

anyway, duol na man ang kasal ni zr. as in super duper uber duol na iyahang kasal. and my main concern is WHAT I am going to wear! huhuh dli ko tugtan ni ritsard mag hubo...

lami na bitaw kaau iyaka. wa jud koy masuot. naa moy ika pahulam nako? and take note, mag flats ko! (zr, ok ra? Congrats diay! hehe sorry.. newei..) ngano ko mag flats? KAY.. mag lanat lanat baya unya ko ni sophia belle ramos tecson. and she is super hyper ra ba gyud! that means mura ko ug yaya aning panahona. bitaw.. ambot. ngita lagi ko ug dress that would go with my golden flats. i cant afford to buy new shoes pud diay seeing as wa na man koy lain nga income - nangita pa ko. so mao na xa karon. dli pud maapas ug patahi kay karon pa man taudtaud mahatag ako sweldo.. so wa na gyud kooooooooooooooooo!! pwede ra kaha na mag slacks? unsay tan-aw ninyo? pwede ra? pwede ra? hehehe pero dli pud nako feel mag slacks, ganahan ko mag skirt! bayot na man ko karon gamay. hehehe sagdai ra..

By the looks of my title, it should not come as a surprise to you that this is one of those rants that go from here to there and round again.

Oh no, no, no, no, and no. I am not going to start naming names and cursing these imbeciles for all their worth. No. I will just say a couple of words to help ease the anger that has been boiling up inside since the minute I heard that I just lost a job without prior notice. Dammit!

Well, now. I know companies are entitled to just lay off everybody when they feel like it. But I would have wanted to have a little more heads up than I would have liked. Not just impromptu shove out the door. Not that I had anything to do with the lay off. Oh well, I was laid off, and so was everybody else. Or perhaps they just told me that so that I wont feel too bad?

Seriously, I thought I would not have much problems with International companies since they would have more sense than others. But heck! Now I remember that perhaps that is why they can be so successful because they do not inject emotion to the job. Still.. I just HATE IT!!!!!!!!

Now I am stuck without a clue as to where I would find another job.

Now it's back to the drawing board. DAMMIT!

Hi guys! Just because I have nothing to post doesn't mean I can't talk about DIY Weddings? Yah yah yah it's bridezilla alert...but don't worry. I'm not here planning to go on and on and on and on (just like the Energizer Bunny!) and talk about my wedding...I just want to announce that I'm DIYing my wedding! I already asked catswee for help so I just want to ask if you guys would want to join in! Dear Buluyagonz,

Hello dear friends! This is just a quick and small post for me. Please do not hesitate to correct my english since this is done without reediting. Hehehehe..

It's still 7:18 AM on a Sunday. I know the rest of you are still fast asleep. Pretty much the rest of the house still is. But me, being programmed to wake up early, I am wide awake, alert, and now I would very much like to go to bed! Hehehehe.. The bed is nice and cold, and Frankie is hogging up the space. Sa iya kagamay siya mag dominate sa whole sa bed. Sophie is at the other house - sa balay sa akong mother-in-law - because last night she would not come up because she still wanted to dance sa dalan. Fiesta man gud sa Angatan, so naay mga hudyaka. Buluyagon ra gyud! Ga cge ug shagit ug "Sayaw ta! Sayaw ta baaaahh!!" Hehehe reminds me of the days when we used to love to dance.

When was the last time we danced? Together. Dugay na sah? We used to enjoy that. Mao cguro pud nang nanambok ta kay wala na tay sayaw sayaw. Hehehe.. or mag sayaw sayaw pud mo sa inyo balay? I know I do! Mag buot? Malingaw man ko b! Besides, the kiddies like the dancing and the music as well. :D

So far, my new year has been great. It truly is the year of the RAT!! I have had blessings pouring in since the start of the year. Perhaps due to the hard work I put in the year before or something. But it surely takes my mind off the other unfortunate events. Hehehe.. Seriously, murag everyday lami kaau! Hehehehe.. do you have days when the minute you wake up murag nice kaau. Bahala nag nagka leche leche nya daghan ungo.. tapos naay mga grabeh kaau nga tawo nga ganahan ra gud iduot ka. Sometimes crappy people rain on my parade, but I guess I just have to sing in the rain. Dabah? Wala ra pud. Basta! Mao to!

The thing is, I really miss you guys. Mag cge ta ug sabot nga magkita but dli mahinayon, gamay ray tawo.. Although lingaw ra man ghpn, but lahi ra gud tong daghan jud ta dba?? Lahi ra man gud pud ng friends nga karon ug lahi ng friends for a long time.

A colleague of mine once said that you can tell how deeply rooted the friendship is by the way the friends behave once they meet. His basis? What he sees between EhnEhn n Me. He says that the way ehn ehn n I treat each other is WAY different between our treatment of our colleagues. An understanding that goes deep, far past petty misunderstandings and other stuff. It's the comfortable atmosphere that happens whenever a good friend, a good OLD friend comes along. Hehehe DRAMA! Bitaw!!

Haiz.. I'm going to stop na. Gduka na pud ko.. Seriously.

For lack of anything to write.. I write this to keep this blog moving. :P

Hello dear friends! How are all of you? I trust you've had a Wonderful New Year's celebration? I know I had. Well, it was not THAT great.. it was okay. Actually, I got sick. Hah! I got sick on the Eve of the New Year's celebration. Isn't that grand, huh? And NO, it was not from overeating!! I think it was more like I was lacking food. Hehehe.. I had been so busy that I forgot to drink water and eat. Bwehehehehe.. Yes, I am THAT responsible. :P

So anyway, I know some of you are curious as to how my little kiddies are faring. After all, time flies fast and Sophie is now 2 years old, while Frankie is 10 months - going on 11 months on the 16th. That means he is turning 1 on the 16th of February. I'll post details of his 1st birthday later on. (They say babies born on February are a bit crazy.. is that right, De?)

So, updates:

Sophia CAN walk, run, climb, fight, scream, box, eat on her own, dance, sing, talk and talk and talk, among other things. She likes to have her own way... and she is a frustrated basketball player. Her favorite toy is the microphone and guitar that I gave her. She loves to dance like Luningning of WOWOWEE (ick! but what could I do?). Oh, and she has some hair already. Hehehehe.. We really loves to eat... it does not matter if its veggies or meat, or fish.. although she really prefers LECHON and ADOBO. She can also be pretty girly wearing dresses and stuff. But sometimes she opens Frankie's kaban and wears Frankie's jersey. Beats me. In a word, she is BUGAY.

Frankie, on the other hand, cannot walk, run, climb, eat on his own. He can, however, semi-walk (baybay), scream, cry, attempt to talk, jump, head bang, squeal, crawl fast, throw balls, have terrible temper tantrums and the like. He can be very tuplok, and sometimes an actor like his actress of a sister. He loves music and his favorite toys are the toy drum and guitar. He definitely does not like the microphone. He also loves to eat - veggies, sweets, meats, fish, etc. On most nights, he consumes 3 to 4 bottles of 8 oz. milk. That is why a 2 kilo can of milk can last as long as a week and a half max. He wears sandos and shorts because he sweats a lot. Hmm.. In a word, he is BUGOY.

Now tell me, they are SOOOOOO unlike me.. I'm so angelic, well behaved, nice... and I do not have horns. I am a BuLuYaGoN, but i am most definitely NOT buluyagon. DBA??? *smiling sweetly*

Revenge of the P.C.

Help! My trusted personal computer just up and gave up on me! :( DAMMIT! Oh I hope they could still save all my blasted files! HELP!! I just can't understand why it just up and gave up on me?!

My FEARS re this matter:

1. all my files (especially my pictures) would be totally deleted!
2. I can't recover all my files
3. my WIFI and modem WON'T work (all the DVDs accompanying the PC is still intact so all the devices would definitely be installed
4. my lappy won't work up to it's full potential

Now, I'm totally without a PC and without the internet! URGHH! This is definitely one of the lowest and boringest (?) time for me!

This year's resolutions... not really thinking so much about it, but I managed to come up with a quick list:

1. Got to go back to exercise... at least 30 mins/day (dagko na buy-on... wihhihi!!!)
2. Eat healthy food...
3. Read Bible verses everyday

The post below inspired me to google about the year '08! Excited aren't we? Since the previous poster (dare I mention her name?) refused to post stuff about '08, below are the useful AND, mind me, useless highlights:

According to the used, and frequently abused Wikipedia, 2008 (MMVIII) will be a leap year starting on Tuesday of the Anno Domini (common) era, in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It has been designated as:

International Year of Planet Earth;
The International Year of Planet Earth is a 2008 international observance, declared by the 60th United Nations General Assembly. The Year's activities will span the three years 2007-2009.

The Year aims to raise $20 million from industry and governments and will spend half on co-funding research, and half on "outreach" activities. It will be the biggest ever international effort to promote the Earth sciences.
European Year of Intercultural Dialogue;
Intercultural dialogue has long been a principle supported by the European Union and its Institutions. The year 2008 has been designated "European Year of Intercultural Dialogue" by the European Parliament and the Member States of the European Union. It aims to draw the attention of people in Europe to the importance of dialogue within diversity and between diverse cultures.

Australian Year of the Scout;
2008 is the Centenary of Australian Scouting and has been declared The Year of the Scout by the Australian Government. In line with this and the success of our 2006 and 2004 advertising campaigns, Scouts Australia has embarked on another communications campaign to which various media organisations have lent their support. Scouts Australia also greatly appreciates the significant assistance of the Australian Government through its financial support and encouragement of Scouting in Australia.
International Year of the Potato;
The year 2008 has been declared the International Year of the Potato by the United Nations, noting that the potato is a staple food in the diet of the world’s population, and affirming the need to focus world attention on the role that the potato can play in providing food security and eradicating poverty.

The corresponding resolution adopted on 25 November 2005 by the Food and Agriculture Organization, which is to facilitate the implementation of the year, affirmed "the need to revive public awareness of the relationship that exists between poverty, food security, malnutrition and the potential contribution of the potato to defeating hunger."

This is one of many International observances declared for specific days, months and years.

It is hoped that International Year designation will do for the potato what the International Year of Rice (2004) did for that food staple, namely, inspire exhibits, educational programs, films, publications and greater public awareness of multi-national efforts on behalf of our food resources.
International Year of Sanitation.
The year 2008 has been declared the International Year of Sanitation by the United Nations in conjunction with the Water for Life Decade.

In Chinese astrology, most of 2008, starting with February 7 will overlap with the Year of the Rat (Dates before February 7 are Year of the Pig). The next Year of the Rat will be in 2020.

More About the RAT (the year most of us were born under)

The Rat (鼠) was welcomed in ancient times as a protector and bringer of material prosperity. It is an animal associated with aggression, wealth, charm, and order, yet also associated with death, war, the occult, pestilence, and atrocities. In the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of the Rat is associated with the earthly branch symbol 子.

Being the first sign of the Chinese zodiac, rats are leaders, pioneers and conquerors. They are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical and hardworking. Rat people are endowed with great leadership skills and are perhaps the most organized and systematic of the twelve signs. Intelligent and cunning at the same time, rats are highly ambitious and strong-willed people who are keen and unapologetic promoters of their own agendas, which often include money and power. They are energetic and versatile and can usually find their way around obstacles, and adapt to various environments easily. According to tradition, Rats often carry heavy karma and at some point in life may face an identity crisis or some kind of feeling of guilt. Rats are said to often have to work very long and hard for everything they may earn or have in life. However, a Rat born during the day is said to have things a bit easier than those who are born at night. Traditionally, Rats born during the night may face extreme hardships and suffering throughout life. Rat in general should guard themselves against hedonism, as it may lead to self-destruction. Gambling, alcohol and drugs tend to be great temptations to Rat natives.

The new year is coming fast around the bend. And for most of us, it is OUR year (according to Chinese astrology) - the Year of the Rat.

Ayshen has been reading up on what being a RAT means. You can check out her site and see the details there. Yes, I am too lazy to copy and paste the contents here. Hehehehe..

So, tell me... Do you have any new year's resolutions? I know some of us don't bother. I don't usually make resolutions that I refuse to stick to. But this year is different I guess.

For me, I've come up with a couple of resolutions that I DO plan to stick to. These are the following:

Spend more time with the kiddies
Earn more
Eliminate a bigger part of debts
Save more
Lose weight (?) - 1-5 pounds will do! hehehe
Learn to cook more - maka balaw cge balik balik foody
Learn to budget time - de, you have to let me borrow your book
Learn the art of GTD (Getting Things Done)
Set up trust fund for kiddies
NOT GET PREGNANT - :D

.. so far, those are the things I have listed. Maybe I could add more? But I really dont think I should bite off more than I can chew.

Whew! AT LAST! The party really pushed through! I almost thought it wouldn't! I mean, with the frequent rescheduling of the date and the party location closed, who wounldn't think that?! With all the last minute changes underway at the 11th hour, a good number of us showed. Of course, most of us showed up LATE! Hmmm, I guess some things never change! Maybe we should've added an "Early Bird" award just so the lot of us wouldn't be late! (Oh, I wish....)

"You could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty. Some are dull while others are bright. Some have weird names. But we all have to learn to live in the same box."

Stuck in a box not like any other, and definitely not composed of the same usual colors, BULUYAGON Crayons are not found just found anywhere, for there is only one box of these crayons in the world! This box is hidden in the deep recesses of a lowly village called Dumaguete, where the crayons preserved their colors, unused by time and undamaged by jadedness.

The box is filled with different colors. There is Green. Not the "CRAYOLA GREEN" but a unique shade of green that brightens everybody's day. That shade of green is not perfect mind you. at times its color becomes so "montrous" that you would cringe in fright, but then again, thats the "BULUYAGON GREEN."

Then there is Maroon. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like it’s maroon, but some sort of shade of maroon. It could be red or whatever shade close to red. thats how unique the "BULUYAGON MAROON" is! This shade is quite lonely in the box, but it never fails to mingle with all the other colors and blend well. Though Maroon tends to be quite contagious leading to forgetfulness, it is does cheer up crayon who is blue, or any color for that matter.

Yellow… yellow like the sun, the canary, YELLOW! Yellow brings a smile to all the crayons. Though its hard imagining a yellow mermaid, believe it or not, "BULUYAGON YELLOW" makes conjuring up a yellow mermaid possible.

There is the shocking shade of pink, otherwise known as the "BULUYAGON SHOCKING PINK." This shade is really shocking!! ^-^ oftentimes this color has a dramatic effect. Other times it is so frank in declaring its color. And it sometimes overshadows the other colors with its brightness and attractiveness.

The common shade present in this box is the color blue. However, not a single shade of blue is the same. For each crayon possesses a distinctive quality that makes it so unique that it cannot be compared to the other.

The colors vary a lot that it is impossible to describe each color perfectly. What's more is that as time passes, these crayons change their color. Some blues become purple, and maybe Green might actually become maroon, or yellow would be green.

As the crayons are stuffed in a box, it cannot be helped that each crayon is exposed to the others and oftentimes their colors clash and mess up. But most of the time, the crayons get over it and make up and then blend wonderfully in the end. Maybe that’s because that’s the way of friends. Of course, getting stuck in the same box makes friends right? in time, all these crayons will be left into the world, separated from each other and each brightening its color. But it will always be one of the "BULUYAGON Crayons." *#*

Buluyagon ra gud! hahah what more can i say? pardon the bisaya-english mix (basin naa pud ni tagalog :P) . this is my prose! free prose! nde na meh mg waste ng precious time nyo kya heto na.

the buluyagons eat a lot! here, there, everywhere.. even if wla food.. ngita na cla ug food! kng wla clang makakain.. ehh di manghihingi sila..!! "Ngayo ko piso..hehehe," or "naa kay piso..?? ngayo ko.. " ahaha oh kya nmn.. nangungutang cla.. bsta gutom, by hook or by crook..we will have something to eat! even if it is just "JAPANESE, pampabugo..!" kuyaw ni sila! mind you, they travel just to get where the food is served. especially if they are invited to come.. they wont say no.. :P nde nga sila shy kasi kahit andyan na nga family ng celebrant, ay ayun.. they're surrounding the table.. mag-ilog pa sa food! hahaha.. ehh.. what can you say?! its a friendly competition, right??

and they can fight though. sometimes its hard for them to reach a solid decision without going through the usual grumbling and fighting and lalis. and mind you, some take it to the heart that they would actually go tampo at each other for the little things. nde nga ako mkaka-remember ng any solid argument na pinag-aawayan ng mga unggoi na to!! hehehe
tsaka 'lam nyo ano pah?? ang taAS ng TAAS ng mga pride nila! di bale na kng nde cla magcommunicate ng ilang days.. weeks.. months.. eh may umabot pa nga ng year eh.. bsta..ang sabi, "nag sorry naman ko bhe..," or even sometimes "i think its best this way.." eh friend yun!!! wala namang ganyanan..hehe pro kpag nag-peace nmn ang nag-aaway.. eh parang wlang nang yaring away..

tinatawanan nalang ang nakaraan.. that's the beauty of it. on the other hand, kpag nde nmn cla mag-peace..parang por layp na dead-ma mode clang dalawa.. tinitiis nlang kapag ang isa ay nakasali sa isa. ok nmn yun.. buti nlang nde nagsasabunotay.. hahahha
heto pa... kpag may tension between two members.. ang tendency ng barkada na ito ay mg take sides.. tsk tsk.. ewan ko nalang.. animal rights nmn yun eh.. hahaha sa kanila na yun.. kaya nagkaka-watakwatak tulok.. ayyy kebz! bsta friends lahat ulit pagkatapos ng lahat na kaguluhan!

oi..! but take note!! brayt ang mga klong-klang na mga 'to!!! believe me..!!! brayt na brayt na brayt ang bawat isa.. nde nga pantay ang pgka-talino nla, ngunit.. lets just say, they're freakin intelligent in their own right! sa sobrang talino nila, pati titser kino-correct!!! hehehe ehh 'bat nmn nde? ehh yun pa namang pag talk na.. "so-ah..," "because-ah.." "zeh-ro" etc! at eto pah!! sa sobrang brayt nila.. nde na cla nag qquote ng mga famous authors, books, o kya famous people.. heheheh 'lam mo kng saan cla kumukuha ng mga witty retorts and taunts nila? ehh di sa even more famous people tulad ng very own nilang kbarkada! tulad ng "me want sleep!".. ang bad thing is nde lang nla alam na sa IRC talk lang yun..dapat "/me want sleep" lolz..

may isa pa silang kinukuhaan ng mga remarks nila.. lam mo kung saan?? sa movies!! tulad ng.. "DAMN YOU SALAZAR!!!" atbp. movie buffs kc.. uu! movie buffs cla.. kahit anong movie, they watch it... kahit pang jugjugan na.. halah go!! sa sobrang watch ng movies eto ang kalalabasan.. (movie: maid in manhattan) "asa na g shoot? sa new york..?" or (movie:the haunting) "halah si CHRISTINA JONES!!" tus ini-imitate pa nla yung pag-say ng character sa kanyang line.. like (movie: spiderman) "go web! fl-ly....!!" hehehe sabi ko ang brayt ng mga pwends ko anoh?
nde lang cla film critics!! people critic pa.. hehe ehh what do i mean by that? its just that, they go talking about people - especially their own barkada - when that kabarkada is not there.. take it the wrong way.. right way.. left way.. anyway, thats just the barkada.. sa sobra nang ikaw na vivictim nila.. parang immune kana.. it used to be called "pang-libak".. eh they're trying to take it out of the system na eh.. so it's just called "chikka" or "discussion about a certain person" nalang.. aint that nice? :) hehehe at any rate.. nde magtatagal eh they get used to whatever flaws the find on that person.. kaya peace lang ang world... however, the road to getting used to all that crap is paqing hard.. cge lang.. kpag nde na carry.. ehh di.. fl-ly..!!! hayy ano ba tong pinasokan ko?! huhuhuhuh bsta! yun... lab ko prin cla.. :P

aside from this, this group can be frank. brutally frank. though i think they are like that with just the barkada. some, however, are just downright frank! ehhh some nmn.. frank sa likod mo. hehehehe pero 'lam nyo?? sa mga taong nde sanay sa pagka-frank namin, parang "wowww pare! ang lupit!" pero sa sanay.. parang JOKE JOKE JOKE na yun.. hehehe parang ..orayt, you feel that way.. heto nman sagot ko.. yun.. parang rebuttal.. meron ata plus at tsaka minus sides yung trait na yun eh.. kaya, neutral!! ehehhehe
